One Step At A Time

Genesis 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

I feel like Abraham in Genesis 12 right now. God told him to go but did not give him specific instructions on where he was going, what route to take nor advise on what to avoid on the trip. God has given me my “Go”. In a previous post I shared that I believe the Lord is leading me to write a book and to begin public speaking.

Many of you know me and can attest that I don’t sit around and wait to do something that I think needs to be done. I will pray, read the word, seek wise counsel and then MOVE IT towards the end goal.

This “GO” has been a new adventure for me. One of the things that I was worried about was what would I write about and would I have the words to say. There are some days that the thoughts and words come flowing and other times where I have nothing to say. I have notes on my phone, on napkins, scratch pieces of paper and even on important documents that I found laying around. The funny thing is that sometimes I just write down a quick thought and then when I see my notes later I laugh out loud, because I have no idea what they mean.

I have been listening to webinars, reading books and articles and talking to others who are where I want to be. It would be so much easier if I could flip to the back of my life book and see how it all ends. It would be even better if every day God would send me a to do list for that day. But you know what? Neither of those things are going to happen. Every day, I get up, pray and seek wisdom from the greatest life coach I know, God, and trust that He will lead my steps on the path He wants me to take for that day.

Todays devotion is really to challenge you to follow what God is asking you to do. You may be scared. You may be excited. You may be unsure. I was all of these things too and some of them right now. All I know is that if God has ask you to “GO” then he will get you to it. I believe that there will be growing pains along the way and every day will not be a successful day in itself ,however it will lead to exactly where God wants you to be.

I am not a patient person and to be honest I want to be in churches and venues speaking right now. I want my daily post to reach thousands and to write and sell millions of my books. I want lives to be transformed and people to be encouraged through my words. I want to take all my experiences and wisdom that I have acquired over the years to benefit, motivate and challenge others. These are some my wants but most of all I want to bring Glory and Honor to God.

The story ended perfectly in the end for Abraham. He had a lot of bumps and bruises along the way. Some were of his own doing and God allowed others to happen to help make him a better man. I don’t know how my story will end but I do know that I trust the Lord, will follow Him and because of that it will end exactly the way God intends it too.

Continue to pray for me as I follow His lead on this new adventure. Let me and my followers know what “GO” adventure God is asking you to go on. We will pray for you and follow you along the path to your success.

One Day At A Time

One Day at A Time

Ecclesiastes 9:1-21

None of us have perfect days every day. Even the scripture says “Anything can happen to any of us, and so we never know if life will be good or bad.” The verses continue to say “As long as we are alive, we still have hope”. We need to take each day as it’s own day and not stay in yesterday or worry about tomorrow.
Even though not all days are going to be good days, we are instructed to do some things each day regardless of how it is going: “Be happy, enjoy the food we have, get dressed, brush your hair, and look your best, love your wife (or husband), and work hard at whatever you do. This is what you are supposed to do as you struggle through life on this earth.”
Ladies, we have hope if we have Jesus. Remember, Today only last 24 hours and most people sleep 1/2 or more of that. I know it may be hard to get through whatever you might be dealing with but YOU CAN GET THROUGH THINGS WITH JESUS HELP. May your today and tomorrow be a good one.
I hope you enjoy the lyrics of this oldie but goodie. It is a reminder to us that with Jesus is our hope when those bad days come.
One Day At A Time (Cristy Lane)
I’m only human, I’m just a woman.
Help me believe in what I could be
And all that I am.
Show me the stairway, I have to climb.
Lord for my sake, teach me to take
One day at a time.
One day at a time sweet Jesus
That’s all I’m asking from you.
Just give me the strength
To do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way
One day at a time.
Do you remember, when you walked among men?
Well Jesus you know if you’re looking below
It’s worse now, than then.
Cheating and stealing, violence and crime
So for my sake, teach me to take
One day at a time.
One day at a time sweet Jesus
That’s all I’m asking from you.
Just give me the strength
To do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way
One day at a time.
